The short version

TransformText is a set of browser-based text tools. The text you paste is processed by JavaScript in your own browser and is not sent to this site or to any third party. There are no accounts, no analytics scripts, and no tracking cookies. This policy explains the few situations where data does exist — standard web-server logs and email you choose to send.

Text you paste into a tool

Your text stays in the memory of your browser tab. It is not transmitted to a server, written to a database, or included in a URL. The tools do not use local storage or cookies to keep it. When you close or refresh the tab, the text is discarded by the browser.

Copy and download actions are performed locally. A downloaded file is created by your browser from the text already on your device.

Server logs

The site is served as static files by a hosting provider. Like most hosting providers, it may keep standard access logs that include an IP address, user-agent string, requested URL, and timestamp, for security and operational purposes. Those logs do not contain the text you paste, because the text never reaches the server. We do not use the logs to identify visitors or to build profiles.

Cookies and local storage

As of the effective date, TransformText sets no cookies and uses no local storage, session storage, or fingerprinting. There is no consent banner because no analytics or advertising script is active. If advertising is enabled, a consent prompt will appear where the law requires one before non-essential cookies are set, and this policy will be updated before the change takes effect.

Analytics and advertising

No analytics service and no advertising network is installed on the site today. There are no tracking pixels, heatmaps, or session recorders.

TransformText may apply to Google AdSense in the future. If advertising is enabled, this section and the effective date will be updated before any ad script loads. The following would then apply:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Google may also use the DoubleClick cookie for interest-based advertising.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or Your Online Choices. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; that does not affect the local text tools.
  • Where consent is required, a consent management platform will collect and store your choices before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used, and you will be able to change those choices later.
  • Advertising is separate from the tools. The text you paste into a tool is never included in an ad request.

Google’s own description of how it uses information from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Any change to the site's advertising status will be reflected in this policy's effective date.

Email

If you email [email protected], the message, your email address, and any information you include are used to read and answer the message. Email is handled by an email provider and is retained only as long as needed for that correspondence. It is not added to a marketing list, and it is not sold or shared for advertising.

Please do not send passwords, API keys, or other live secrets. The tools are local; email is not.

Legal bases and your rights

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR applies, the legal basis for processing email correspondence is the legitimate interest in answering questions and maintaining the site, or your consent when you choose to write. Server logs are processed for the legitimate interest of keeping the service secure and available.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data, to object to processing, or to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Because the tools store no personal data, most requests will concern email correspondence. Write to the address above and include enough detail to identify the message.

Children

The site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Third-party links

Pages may link to external sites, such as Google’s ad settings or a browser’s documentation. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes to this policy

If the way the site handles data changes, this page will be updated and the effective date at the top will change. Material changes will be described on this page rather than hidden in a revision history.
